Sponsored events and donations play a key role within our Bell’s philosophy. Through these events, we are able to not only give back to the communities we sell our beer in, but also get to have a great time with our fans! We are always looking for new opportunities and welcome your suggestions and applications. Please keep in mind that while we would love to be able to participate in everything, we sometimes must respectfully decline.
We do have a few guidelines we follow for all sponsorships and donations, please read through them below before proceeding to our application.
- Requests must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to the event start date or the date the donation is needed. Any events submitted with less than 8 weeks’ notice will automatically be declined. We want to give every event we are involved in the best chance for success, which means we need time to plan. While 8 weeks is our minimum time requirement, additional time is always appreciated, especially for larger events.
- We do very little traditional advertising, instead we focus our efforts on sponsorships. When we partner with an event or an organization, we like to be involved! That said, if your proposal only involves a logo placement, we will politely decline in favor of events that offer us a chance to interact with our fans.
- We’re an eccentric bunch here at Bell’s and love to be involved with events that reflect your community’s eccentricities, uniqueness and inclusivity.
- We are always happy to consider requests for donations of Bell’s swag for homebrew competitions, fundraisers and events! That said, due to Michigan state law, we are not legally allowed to donate beer to events in any state. We’re sorry, but we legally cannot make any exceptions.

CSX is proud to support people and organizations that in turn honor those who serve our communities. We offer monetary and in-kind resources to nonprofit organizations advocating for the betterment of our nation’s military members or community first responders, and have additional resources available to support other community efforts.
In Kind Donations
Intermodal Transportation Services
Intermodal transportation services provide applicable organizations with intermodal equipment and rail service throughout the CSX rail network, and afford these organizations an opportunity to reduce or eliminate their transportation spending.
Ideally, intermodal moves work best when freight is moving 500 miles or more. However, the in-kind moves program requires only that freight have an origin and destination within a combined 250 miles’ distance to a CSX intermodal facility.
CSX’s door-to-door product is an ideal solution for the in-kind moves program, as our trained team will pick up your freight at its origin and transport it to a terminal to be placed on an intermodal train. Then, we will pick up your freight at the destination terminal and deliver it directly to its endpoint. The door-to-door network provides service across the Eastern United States with its large nationwide network and trucking capability.
CSX will also work with you to determine the type of equipment that is an ideal fit to transport your freight. CSX has a large fleet of rail-owned containers, as well as an expansive network of channel partners that can provide equipment to fit your needs.
Railroad Equipment and Materials
CSX occasionally donates materials, supplies and used railroad equipment based on availability. The online in-kind application can be used to request the donation of railroad-related items, including retired rail cars when available. Please note that rail, rail ties and spikes are not available for donation or purchase. Applicants will be contacted if the requested item becomes available within 90 days of their online submittal. At that time, arrangements will be made to transfer possession of the requested item. All applicants will be asked to re-submit their application at a later date if the requested item does not become available within the 90-day period.

The Rachael Ray Foundation and Best Friends Animal Society are committed to helping Best Friends Network Partners increase lifesaving in their communities through impactful, innovative, and inclusive programming. Every year, there are two types of Rachael Ray grants for which partners can apply.
Grants for Animal Rescue to Save More Lives: The Rachael Ray Save Them All Grants
The Rachael Ray Save Them All Grants fund projects to reduce the lifesaving gap of cats and dogs in U.S. shelters. We welcome project proposals from public and private shelters, rescue groups, and other animal welfare organizations that enable lifesaving in a community.
The Rachael Ray Save Them All Grants fund projects that increase lifesaving of cats and dogs in U.S. shelters. We welcome project proposals from public and private shelters, as well as rescue groups and other animal welfare organizations focused on impacting lifesaving at shelters.
Your organization can apply for a grant of up to $50,000, with the amount requested not exceeding 10% of your operating budget. The average grant awarded last year was just under $13,000, therefor granting may only cover partial funding needed for your project.
Project Requirements
- Projects can be focused on just one event/program or can include multiple events/programs.
- Proposed projects should align with regional priorities. Projects that satisfy these priorities will have the largest impact on lifesaving in each region.
- We welcome project proposals from public and private shelters, rescue groups, and other animal welfare organizations that enable lifesaving.
- If the applicant that is applying is an organization that is already no-kill, their project needs to be impacting a shelter that has a lifesaving gap and has not achieved a 90% save rate.
- If awarded, the applying organization will need to submit quarterly impact statistics of how many lives were impacted through the project.
- The impacted shelter’s intake and outcome data will need to be submitted as well, in order to calculate the reduction in gap to 90%, which will measure success of the project.
- Best Friends will make calculations for reduction in lifesaving gap after all data points are submitted. These two metrics (impacts and reduction number in lifesaving gap) will be used for grant accountability and measuring success.

- If the applicant that is applying is an organization that is already no-kill, their project needs to be impacting a shelter that has a lifesaving gap and has not achieved a 90% save rate.
- If awarded, the applying organization will need to submit quarterly impact statistics of how many lives were impacted through the project.
- The impacted shelter’s intake and outcome data will need to be submitted as well, in order to calculate the reduction in gap to 90%, which will measure success of the project.
- Best Friends will make calculations for reduction in lifesaving gap after all data points are submitted. These two metrics (impacts and reduction number in lifesaving gap) will be used for grant accountability and measuring success.

Sponsored events and donations play a key role within our Bell’s philosophy. Through these events, we are able to not only give back to the communities we sell our beer in, but also get to have a great time with our fans! We are always looking for new opportunities and welcome your suggestions and applications. Please keep in mind that while we would love to be able to participate in everything, we sometimes must respectfully decline.
We do have a few guidelines we follow for all sponsorships and donations, please read through them below before proceeding to our application.
- Requests must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to the event start date or the date the donation is needed. Any events submitted with less than 8 weeks’ notice will automatically be declined. We want to give every event we are involved in the best chance for success, which means we need time to plan. While 8 weeks is our minimum time requirement, additional time is always appreciated, especially for larger events.
- We do very little traditional advertising, instead we focus our efforts on sponsorships. When we partner with an event or an organization, we like to be involved! That said, if your proposal only involves a logo placement, we will politely decline in favor of events that offer us a chance to interact with our fans.
- We’re an eccentric bunch here at Bell’s and love to be involved with events that reflect your community’s eccentricities, uniqueness and inclusivity.
- We are always happy to consider requests for donations of Bell’s swag for homebrew competitions, fundraisers and events! That said, due to Michigan state law, we are not legally allowed to donate beer to events in any state. We’re sorry, but we legally cannot make any exceptions.

In Kind Donations
Intermodal Transportation Services
Intermodal transportation services provide applicable organizations with intermodal equipment and rail service throughout the CSX rail network, and afford these organizations an opportunity to reduce or eliminate their transportation spending.
Ideally, intermodal moves work best when freight is moving 500 miles or more. However, the in-kind moves program requires only that freight have an origin and destination within a combined 250 miles’ distance to a CSX intermodal facility.
CSX’s door-to-door product is an ideal solution for the in-kind moves program, as our trained team will pick up your freight at its origin and transport it to a terminal to be placed on an intermodal train. Then, we will pick up your freight at the destination terminal and deliver it directly to its endpoint. The door-to-door network provides service across the Eastern United States with its large nationwide network and trucking capability.
CSX will also work with you to determine the type of equipment that is an ideal fit to transport your freight. CSX has a large fleet of rail-owned containers, as well as an expansive network of channel partners that can provide equipment to fit your needs.
Railroad Equipment and Materials
CSX occasionally donates materials, supplies and used railroad equipment based on availability. The online in-kind application can be used to request the donation of railroad-related items, including retired rail cars when available. Please note that rail, rail ties and spikes are not available for donation or purchase. Applicants will be contacted if the requested item becomes available within 90 days of their online submittal. At that time, arrangements will be made to transfer possession of the requested item. All applicants will be asked to re-submit their application at a later date if the requested item does not become available within the 90-day period.

- We will consider requests from organizations in the States of California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Quebec - Canada.
Preferences:
- Preference will be given to the programs in the communities in and around our major facilities.
- We may give additional preference to organizations in which our associates have direct involvement, but the over-arching consideration is the betterment of the community.

The PENN Entertainment Foundation was launched in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to assist nearly 2,000 team members who were impacted by the storm — giving them much needed support, food, water, clothing and shelter. Today, our foundation is proud to support countless local nonprofit organizations throughout North America. From community development efforts, like rebuilding playgrounds and promoting education, to health services and support for veterans and active-duty military, we’re focused on giving back to our people and our communities.
Our Commitment
PENN Entertainment Foundation, Inc. grants shall be used to address the broad needs of the residents of the communities in which PENN Entertainment Foundation, Inc. operates or has a business interest, which currently includes the following states: Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West Virginia.
Funding Criteria
Foundation grants shall generally fall in the following categories:
Community Development. Projects and programs related to community infrastructure improvements, public safety, economic development, housing, historic preservations, citizen involvement, civic leadership training, and other general community activities.
Education. Programs which support per-school, elementary and secondary education, post-secondary education and special education programs.
Human Services. Programs which address the needs of children and youth, senior citizens and disadvantages populations, especially in times of natural or man made disaster.
Cultural Affairs & Diversity. Programs and facilities designed to foster an understanding, appreciation and celebration of different cultures and encourage participation among individuals of different cultures and belief systems.
Health. Local health and medical-related programs.
Veteran and Military Support: Programs that provide support and services to veterans, active members of the military and their families.

As a family foundation in Pittsburgh, PA, our philanthropic traditions are well rooted in our continued support of organizations that foster transformative programs which best serve the local community as a whole in the areas of arts and culture, education, environmental, health and medical, human services, and religion.
Even though the Snee-Reinhardt Charitable Foundation encompasses many broad areas of concern, or categories, there is no one area deemed more important than the next. Nevertheless, the Foundation has found it beneficial underwriting grants that are tangible in nature or serve a higher number of individuals within the community and surrounding areas. The Foundation continually aids organizations that are endlessly striving to serve the community in various ways such as improving social conditions, expanding education, and working to better the environment.
Category Definitions
The Snee-Reinhardt Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors has designated several areas of concern comprised of specific intentions.
- Arts/Culture: Performing arts, humanities, media and communications, multipurpose museums, public broadcasting, and historical preservations.
- Education: Promotional programs for elementary, secondary and vocational systems, colleges/universities, graduate programs, adult and multipurpose libraries.
- Environmental: Support of natural resources, beautification programs, pollution control, environmental education, and horticultural/botanical programs.
- Health/Medical: Rural health care, crisis intervention, special programs in health centers, and prevention/treatment of specific diseases.
- Human Services: Youth development and recreation, disaster relief, employment training/ placement, multipurpose agencies, and abuse prevention.
- Religion: The theological education and ecumenical programs as well as the mission of many churches, synagogues, and religious charities.
- Miscellaneous: Because every grant cannot be included into a category, the Snee-Reinhardt Charitable Foundation permits grants for animal welfare, community development, sports, camps, fire and police departments and economic development as miscellaneous grants.

- The Foundation receives a large amount of requests from the Southwestern Pennsylvania area. This leaves very limited funding for programs outside of our primary geographic focus.
Ineligibility:
- We do not accept grant applications from an organization that is serving as fiscal sponsors for another organization.
- Excluded from support, in no particular order, are:
- Organizations not classified as a "Public Charity" under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3), 509(a)(3) or similar tax-exemption provisions by the Internal Revenue Service
- Grantmaking organizations that regift monies (e.g. mini-grants) to other for-profit organizations, non-profit organizations or start-up organizations which may or may not fit within the Snee-Reinhardt Charitable Foundation guidelines.
- Newly formed organizations classified as a “Public Charity” must be in existence for five (5) full years before seeking funds.
- Advertising / Marketing / Promotional Materials
- This includes all forms of advertising, branding, concept design, creation of brochures and promotional materials, marketing and research (please see Salaries).
- Chairs and Professorships
- Conferences / Meetings / Performances
- This includes accommodations for guests/speakers, badges, decorations, hosting of events including but not limited to fairs and training programs for schools or businesses, promotional materials specific to the event, rental of audio/video equipment, facility and/or tables/chairs, staffing and transportation.
- Endowment Fund-
- This includes fellowships, honorariums and scholarships.
- Grants to Individuals
- General capital improvements (*must obtain written approval)-
- Though we do not entertain grants for general funding of a capital campaign, the Board will entertain requests for specific tangible needs or projects within the overall campaign.
- We require cost breakdowns, timelines and photo/drawings of the tangible items being sought for support.
- General Fundraising Efforts-
- Though we understand the importance of fundraising, we do not provide support for fundraising.
- Examples are A-thons (dance, run or walk), "ad" books, benefit concerts, black-tie galas, charity art exhibits, charity auctions, charity competitions (eating, singing or dancing), donor dinners, golf outings, guest speakers, raffles, and sporting events.
- Though we understand the importance of fundraising, we do not provide support for fundraising.
- General operating expenses and fringe benefits-
- Examples include insurance fees, front office supply expenses, property management fees and taxes, rent, travel expenses for staff members, and utilities.
- Highly specialized health or medical programs that do not have specific impact on the community (*must obtain written approval)-
- Though these types of programs might not have a direct impact on the community at this time, there are instances in which funding may apply.
- Labor (also see Salaries)-
- Though we understand that paying individuals to maintain equipment, do various types of construction or installation an item is essential, these costs, direct or indirect, are still considered a payment of a wage or a salary and therefore will not be considered.
- Matching Grants (*must obtain written approval)
- Medications/Vaccines-
- At this time we are not accepting any requests to provide medications or vaccinations to local communities. This area is, however, under review by the Board of Directors.
- Pilot Programming-
- All programming, no matter the organization, must be in place for a minimum of two (2) full years before seeking funding and come with three program reference letters from community leaders before submitting a proposal.
- Also required is how the overall program has impacted the community and the number of participants from years one and two.
- Political Contributions
- Salaries-
- This includes allowances, fees, labor wages, subsidies, stipends, and training.
- Schools, Elementary through University level- Specifically for school choral robes, marching band uniforms and uniforms. Please review ALL of our limitations and restrictions as other areas apply to this section.
- Technology-
- In-Office Computer Systems are essential to any organization. The output devices (e.g., screen, speakers), the input devices (e.g. keyboard, mouse) and the desktop computer (the unit housing the CPU, motherboard, hard drive, etc.), wear over time and require upgrades. While we will consider upgrades for tangible needs (output, input and desktop devices) to an overall existing system or a new system that has been operational for a minimum of two years. We, however, do not support the following:
- Creation of a new computer system including writing of new software or programming
- Bridging of an old system to a new system whether it is hardware or software
- Transference of old files into new system
- In-Office Computer Systems are essential to any organization. - Vehicle and Vehicle Maintenance-
- This includes purchase of a new vehicle (e.g. car or truck) as well as fuel, replacement of fluids, inspections, replacement of parts, and all other tasks associated with vehicle maintenance.

The Rachael Ray Foundation™ is funded by a portion of proceeds from each sale of Rachael's pet food, Nutrish®. The Foundation was launched by Rachael in 2016 to better support the causes she cares for most such as helping animals in need.
The Rachael Ray Foundation and Best Friends Animal Society are committed to helping Best Friends Network Partners increase lifesaving in their communities through impactful, innovative, and inclusive programming. Every year, there are two types of Rachael Ray grants for which partners can apply.
Grants for Animal Rescue to Save More Lives: The Rachael Ray Save Them All Grants
The Rachael Ray Save Them All Grants fund projects to reduce the lifesaving gap of cats and dogs in U.S. shelters. We welcome project proposals from public and private shelters, rescue groups, and other animal welfare organizations that enable lifesaving in a community.
The Rachael Ray Save Them All Grants fund projects that increase lifesaving of cats and dogs in U.S. shelters. We welcome project proposals from public and private shelters, as well as rescue groups and other animal welfare organizations focused on impacting lifesaving at shelters.
Your organization can apply for a grant of up to $50,000, with the amount requested not exceeding 10% of your operating budget. The average grant awarded last year was just under $13,000, therefor granting may only cover partial funding needed for your project.
Project Requirements
- Projects can be focused on just one event/program or can include multiple events/programs.
- Proposed projects should align with regional priorities. Projects that satisfy these priorities will have the largest impact on lifesaving in each region.
- We welcome project proposals from public and private shelters, rescue groups, and other animal welfare organizations that enable lifesaving.
- If the applicant that is applying is an organization that is already no-kill, their project needs to be impacting a shelter that has a lifesaving gap and has not achieved a 90% save rate.
- If awarded, the applying organization will need to submit quarterly impact statistics of how many lives were impacted through the project.
- The impacted shelter’s intake and outcome data will need to be submitted as well, in order to calculate the reduction in gap to 90%, which will measure success of the project.
- Best Friends will make calculations for reduction in lifesaving gap after all data points are submitted. These two metrics (impacts and reduction number in lifesaving gap) will be used for grant accountability and measuring success.
