Thee American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is a national, nonprofit organization focused on substantially increasing the representation of American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, First Nations and other indigenous peoples of North America in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) studies and careers.

This scholarship fund was established to memorialize A.T. Anderson, one of the AISES founders.  The award is $1,000 for the academic year for Undergraduate students and  $2,000 for academic year for Graduate students. This scholarship is for students pursuing degrees in Mathematics, Medical Sciences, Physical Science, Technology, Science, Engineering, or Natural Resources.

Eligibility:

  • Eligible Degrees:
    • Mathematics,
    • Medical Sciences,
    • Physical Science,
    • Technology,
    • Science,
    • Engineering, or
    • Natural Resources.
  • Student Status: 
    • Students must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students at an accredited four-year college/university for the upcoming academic year.
    • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • Tribal Citizenship:
    • Applicants must be an enrolled citizen or a decedent of an enrolled citizen of a federally or state recognized American Indian Tribe; Alaskan Native Village or be Native Hawaiian.
    • Applicants may also provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card demonstrating at least 25% Native blood quantum.
