A&WMA is an independent, non-profit organization that raises and manages private gifts to benefit and promote environmental studies.

A&WMA Gulf Coast Chapter Undergraduate Environmental Science and Engineering Scholarship was created to provide scholarships to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in an environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field.

  • All of the following selection criteria must be met to be considered by A&WMA:
    • All undergraduate students admitted to a University in the State of Texas, who maintain satisfactory academic progress, and pursue a degree toward Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related degree;
    • Student Major must be Environmental Engineering, Science, Geology, Chemistry, or another environmental related major;
    • Student must be enrolling as a new student, current student, or transfer student in the fall of each year;
    • Student must have a minimum ACT score of 23 or SAT score of 1150;
    • Student must be enrolled/ enrolling for a minimum of 12 hours and maintain this fulltime status throughout the semester and subsequent semesters; 
    • Entering Freshmen must be ranked in the top 15% of their class; 
    • The grade point average (GPA) for current students and transfer students must cumulatively be 3.00; 
    • Student must demonstrate leadership potential and participation in student and/or civic organizations and take an active role in their communities; and 
    • Student must have an interest in pursuing a career in the environmental science or related field
