Overview:

Background

In January of 2016, Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC, (CNS) responsible for the management and operations of the Pantex Plant, announced an employee-directed grant program. The CNS Pantex Community Investment Fund is a component fund of the Amarillo Area Foundation and the competitive grant program was developed as a part of CNS’ commitment to Amarillo and the surrounding areas.

“The goal was to give our employees more of a voice in determining where corporate dollars are invested in the community where they work, live, and volunteer,” said Jason Bohne, CNS Communications and Public Affairs director. “By working together with the Amarillo Area Foundation, we are confident that these grants and their recipients will have a positive impact in the Panhandle.”

The priorities for funding are:

  • Basic Needs (Food, Clothing, and Shelter)
  • Children, Youth, and Family
