Ancillary Studies to Ongoing Clinical Projects (R21 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) Direct costs are limited to $400,000 over a two-year period, with no more than $250,000 in direct costs in any single year. The scope of the proposed project should determine the project period. The maximum project period is two years.
