Overview:

APDT Foundation

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide funding for applied scientific research on dog training and behavior and to further increase the knowledge base of the dog training profession. 

Purpose 

Blue-9 Working Dog Scholarship Program is intended to allow certified working dog handlers or certified instructors of working dog programs to attend the APDT Annual Educational Conference and Trade Show. The scholarship covers the registration fee for four full days at the conference and $500 to help offset the costs of travel to attend the conference.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a certified instructor of a professional working dog program, or the handler of a federal, state, national, or international certified K9 from the police, military, government agency, professional detection, or SAR field. 

Ineligibility:

  • Members of the APDT Board of Trustees and the APDT Foundation Board of Trustees are not eligible. 
  • If the applicant is selected, he/she is not eligible to apply again for five years.
