The Atwood Foundation was established for the benefit of the people of Anchorage, Alaska and vicinity particularly the young people through assisting financially in the initiation, completion and maintenance of Education and Art projects.

Eligibility:

  • The Atwood Foundation gives grants to non-profit organizations specializing in arts, journalism, history, or civic events.
  • We also support post secondary journalism education at UAA and scholarship programs at APU.
  • Eligible organizations must be based in Anchorage, Alaska with grant funds used to support programs, projects and activities primarily serving the Anchorage area. 
  • NOTE: Before applying for the first time, please call and consult with us at least two weeks before the deadline. First time applicants who do not consult with us in advance are usually not funded.
