Overview:

The Biochemical Society offers a programme of grants supporting research, attendance at scientific conferences and the sponsorship of events.  

Full and Early Career Member Bursary supports the attendance of Full and Early Career Members at the Society's Focused Meetings. The maximum bursary available for a Focused Meeting is £200 if the meeting is taking place within your country of residence and £300 if you have to travel outside of your country of residence to attend the meeting.

Eligibility:

  • Full and Early Career Members are eligible to apply for a Bursary to attend Biochemical Society Focused Meetings.
  • Full and Early Career Members can apply for a Bursary once a year. 
  • If you apply for a Full and Early Career Member Bursary to attend a meeting you must submit a poster abstract for presentation at the meeting.

You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Full and Early Career Members can apply for a Bursary if they are a member of the Society by the closing date for poster abstract submission for the particular event they wish to attend.

Ineligibility:

  • You cannot receive an Full and Early Career Member Bursary in the same year as a General Travel Grant or International Sponsored Place.
