The Shasta Chapter of the California Native Plant Society sponsors one $2,000 scholarship which is awarded each year to a student from Shasta College, Lassen College, or College of the Siskiyous transferring to a four‑year university or college, or a local high school student beginning a bachelor’s program on a full‑time basis (at least 12 units/term). The scholarship amount is payable in two installments. The first installment is paid after the recipient submits a copy of their registration card or receipt for classes at the four‑year institution. The second installment is paid after the start of the second term.

- Students attending a community college or high school within Shasta, Siskiyou, Modoc and Lassen Counties.
- Applicants must be entering a 4-year college/university program in the 2017/2018 school year with a life science related major.
- Students must have a “B” (3.0) grade point average or better.
- Plant science or botany majors will be given preference.
