Cape Fear Memorial Foundation

Cape Fear Memorial Foundation is a private, non-operating foundation located in Wilmington, NC. Its primary purpose is to serve the health and wellness needs of the people of southeastern North Carolina by supporting local not-for-profit organizations.

Service Areas

Funding programs and organizations that promote health education, disease prevention, and provide direct medical and health services has been, and continues to be the priority of the Foundation’s granting philosophy.

To better serve the citizens of southeastern North Carolina, the Foundation’s geographical service area includes the following five counties: Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, Pender and New Hanover.

Eligibility:

  • An organization may be eligible for a grant from the Foundation if it is qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and it is not a private, non-operating foundation (as defined by Section 509(a) of the Code), or if it is a public instrumentality involved in providing services to improve the general health and welfare of the community.
  • Qualifying organizations must provide services in at least one of the following counties: Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, Pender, or New Hanover.

Ineligibility:

  • Grants will not be made to individuals or to for-profit organizations.
