Cardinal Health E3 Grant Program

The E3 grant program, launched in 2010, grew out of our already significant investments in Patient Safety grants. Over the past decade, through various grant programs, we have provided more than 310 grants, totaling nearly $10 million, to health care organizations working to improve patient safety, and, as a result, are improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.

Cardinal Health develops and supports programs that help healthcare providers implement best practices that can truly transform patient care. Through the E3 grant program, the Foundation has invested more than $8.5 million with 297 grants to hospitals, health systems or other health-related organizations. These projects have produced significant outcomes and insights.

In 2017, our E3 RFP recognized our rapidly changing demographics and the significant role that both patient and family play in healthcare. In addition, the RFP reflected a renewed appreciation for the value that medications, when used appropriately, play in positive patient outcomes.
