Overview:

Our Primary Mission

Welcome to the Celanese Foundation, an employee-led effort dedicated to improving the quality of life for people around the world. Our investments go directly to the charities we believe in and support through our own dollars and volunteer time.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Celanese Foundation focuses on creating opportunities for at-risk families to learn, grow and thrive. Our focus areas support programs and causes around families, primary education and safe places to live and grow. Through partnerships in our communities, Celanese employees guide our decision-making process and are involved in all aspects of our community support.

Organizations that receive funding have missions aligned with the Foundation’s focus areas.

What We Do

At Celanese, we believe in the power of collaboration and use the passion of our employees to guide the work of our nonprofit Celanese Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people around the world. Our investments go directly to the charities we believe in and support through our own dollars and volunteer time.

We focus on initiatives to improve the fundamental living conditions of people, with a special focus on families and children.

Initially established in Dallas, the Foundation is now operational at seven locations in North America. Long-term, the Foundation will become a global enterprise, expanding our ability to create sustainable improvements in communities far and wide.

Employee involvement is critical to the success of the Celanese Foundation. To ensure that our investments go to the charities our employees believe in and support through their own dollars and volunteer time, organizations and agencies most likely to be considered for funding are those who sponsored by a Celanese employee.

Focus Areas

We partner with community organizations to tackle critical problems of the Foundation’s focus areas:

Families

Families make up the fabric of our community and they play an important role in helping children succeed. Families that are impacted by violence, drug abuse and unemployment are just a few causes that we support in order to keep our community safe.

Primary Education

Helping children, especially those in high-risk, high-poverty communities, requires special attention and support that many public schools cannot easily provide. Celanese Foundation financial gifts and volunteer efforts help students reach their full potential in school. We support organizations that are dedicated to providing academic, social and emotional support to help students graduate high school.

Safe Places To Live & Grow

Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself or herself and family, yet this basic need remains unmet for many. Through Foundation support organizations designed to provide shelter to those impacted by homelessness or natural disaster, assist those affected by domestic violence and empower men and women to build and nurture their families.
