During his lifetime, Charles B. Degenstein established three separate and independent charitable foundations. This website is designed to simplify the process for not-for-profit organizations to apply for financial support from the three Degenstein Foundations. Each Degenstein Foundation has established its own criteria and guidelines for its decision making process for awarding grants to qualified organizations. The grant application process as set forth in this website applies to all Degenstein Foundations and for the convenience of applicants only one application must be submitted by each applicant.

The three Charitable Foundations created by Charles B. Degenstein are known as:

  • Charles and Betty Degenstein Foundation
  •  Charles B. Degenstein Foundation
  •  The 1994 Charles B. Degenstein Foundation

Funding to 501(c)(3) approved non-profit organizations is provided for the following:

  •  Educational programs and services,
  •  Healthcare programs and services,and
  •  Strategic regional and local needs and the environment.

Larger grants are awarded based on the importance of the application to the goals and objectives of each of the Degenstein Foundations, as well as the value to the region located within the seventy-five mile radius of Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

The Degenstein Foundations grants are rarely expected to cover all project costs. Each of the Degenstein Foundations looks favorably on additional support for a project from the community and other funding sources.

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website.
