To achieve Virginia's long-stated goals of cleaning local creeks and rivers and improving water quality for people and wildlife, this program will provide grants to:
Implement water quality improvement projects and best practices to reduce pollution to local creeks and rivers in the Bay watershed in order to achieve pollution reduction targets in Bay agreements and improve human and wildlife health.
Improve regulatory enforcement, public education, and access to creeks and rivers in the Bay watershed through on-the-ground projects.
Build public advocacy for clean rivers and water through civic engagement, journalism, and organizing.

- The Oak Hill Fund only awards grants to organizations that are tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- The Oak Hill Fund supports overhead (administrative and fundraising expenses) required for the proposed project.
- Grants in this program are limited to the Chesapeake Bay watershed in Virginia.
- Additional overhead, such as often established by colleges and universities, will not be considered.
- The Oak Hill Fund does not support capital campaigns, endowments, individuals, bricks and mortar projects, books or films.
- OHF does not support any research projects.
