About this funder:
The Community Response Fund was activated to provide support to area nonprofit organizations, schools, and governments on the front lines serving those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Established through a cooperative effort between the Manistee County Community Foundation, United Way of Manistee County, and the Manistee County Human Services Collaborative Body, the Community Response Fund provides a collective vehicle for charitable giving and supports collaborative grantmaking and programming in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Initially, grant awards will be considered for requests up to $2,500. However, applicants are encouraged to contact the Foundation if their immediate needs for funding exceed this amount.
Representatives from the Manistee County Community Foundation, United Way of Manistee County, and the Manistee County Human Services Collaborative Body, in consultation with public health professionals, will respond to funding requests from the Community Response Fund. The partners are closely monitoring communications from our local Health Department and response teams to stay informed as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve.
The Community Response Fund will be used to:
- Quickly move resources to where they are needed most and adapt to evolving needs
- Give added support to those organizations on the front lines of caring for and assisting vulnerable and/or disproportionately affected members of our community
- Support social service organizations serving as the safety net for those experiencing new hardships due to employment insecurity or other economic burdens
- Increase community collaboration and coordination of services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
