Overview:

DTE Energy Foundation Tree Planting Grants

Program Objective

To increase the number of properly planted, established and maintained trees within the service territory of DTE Energy. 

Criteria

Tree planting projects such as park, right-of-way, city street, nature study areas, school grounds planting and neighborhood revitalization projects. All trees must be planted on public land or land open to the public.

Project duration: Approximately 12 months (March through December)

Eligibility:

  • Eligibility:
  • Tree planting is the only eligible activity under this grant program.
    • Tree-planting projects must occur on public property such as parks, street rights-of-way and school grounds.
  • All grants require a 1-to-1 match, which can be made up of cash contributions or in-kind services.

Preferences:

  • Preference will be given to applications from entities who have NOT received a DTE Energy Foundation Tree Planting grant within the last year.

Ineligibility:

  • Individuals and private businesses are not eligible to apply but may partner with an eligible organization on a proposal.
