Funds in Action
Community Support Grants Cycle 1 concluded in April with two proactive grants awarded for critical needs. We’re pleased to supply funds where they’re most needed.
Greene County General Hospital was awarded $10,500. They have a critical need for funding of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) – masks, gowns, gloves, etc. Many items are costing five times what they used to, and they need larger quantities. They estimated needing $21,000 for these lifesaving efforts. We’re pleased to partner with United Way of Monroe County, who awarded the other half, so the hospital’s needs are fully funded at this time.
Pregnancy Choices was awarded $5,000. Abortion clinics are currently closed, so there’s more need of this organization’s services. However, they had to postpone their annual fundraising event that raises $75,000, or roughly half of their annual budget.
The May grant cycle for COVID-19 relief concluded in May with $45,000 granted to the following organizations:
- Glenburn Home, Inc.
- Bless Bloomfield/Tulip Church of God Community Relief
- Greene County Health, Inc.
- Greene County Ambulance Service
- Leap Ahead Center
