Foundations for the Future

The 2017 grant theme is Foundations for the Future. In an effort to address some of the many causes of poverty in our community, grants will support programs that help youth meet their potential (programs or projects that offer opportunities for youth to learn and develop in areas including:

  • education;
  • vocation;
  • recreation;
  • mentoring;
  • behavioral health & support groups;
  • entrepreneurship;
  • the arts; and
  • technology.

Areas of support

Through seven grant cycles, the GiVE 365 membership has supported a wide variety of impact areas and organizations throughout Greater Memphis.

  • Animals;
  • Community Development;
  • Education;

Eligibility:

  • Please note the following eligibility criteria for submitting a GiVE 365 application.
    • Grants can only be made to 501(c)(3) organizations, though a fiscal agent may be used with a signed memorandum of understanding between the applicant and agent.
    • Applicants are highly encouraged to attend an info session.
  • While many of the GiVE 365 grants have been for specific projects, if you think your organization’s work fits the theme well enough, you can make an argument for operating support in your application.
  • You may only submit one GiVE 365 grant request in a given cycle.
  • Organizations may apply again if they have projects that are appropriate to another year's theme.
  • So far, all grants have gone to nonprofits within Memphis city limits.
    • However, as our membership expands, we expect to make some grants beyond Shelby County, provided the need is sufficiently compelling.
    • Applicants in Tennessee west of the Tennessee River; in Crittenden County, Arkansas; and in northwest Mississippi are welcome to apply, understanding that the membership base is currently heavily concentrated in Shelby County.

Ineligibility:

  • Matching fund is not required for GiVE 365.
