About this funder:

NOTE: While all applications will be considered, please keep in mind that preference is given to organizations where Praxair employees volunteer their time, talent or provide financial support. Organizations should have an employee sponsor to apply for the grant on their behalf. Most grants without employee association would be declined for consideration.

Giving back is a core value at Praxair

Giving back to our communities is a core value at Praxair. In 2016, Praxair’s Global Giving Program contributed $5.8 million to help support our communities, provide educational opportunities, promote diversity and inclusion, improve access to health & wellness programs, and preserve and protect the environment around the world. Our Global Giving dollars also go a long way toward supporting key business initiatives. We provide scholarships to community colleges and technical schools for critical skills that are needed in local workforces. And, we make contributions to organizations and universities to support STEM education.

The level of support granted is commensurate with employee involvement in the project and how well it fits within program guidelines.

Focused Areas of Giving

Community Support

We are dedicated to being a good corporate neighbor and believe in giving back in the neighborhoods where we live and work. Our dollars support community programs provided by organizations including volunteer fire departments, boys and girls clubs, food banks and shelters for men, women and children.

Health & Wellness

In 2016, Praxair sponsored causes such as medical research for cancer, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, alzheimers, juvenile diabetes, cystic fibrosis and arthritis. We contribute to organizations including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, as well as many local hospitals, clinics and hospices.

We directly support our commitment to diversity and inclusion by contributing to educational and professional diversity focused organizations. Praxair’s efforts to drive diversity and inclusion have been recognized by DiversityInc, which named Praxair to its 2016 list of 25 Noteworthy Companies for Diversity.

We support organizations committed to protect and conserve the earth’s natural resources for future generations. For example, through Praxair’s Greenway Project we support the planting and preservation of one million trees from 2016 to 2020 in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, China, India, Korea and Canada.

We are committed to providing educational opportunities for future leaders and for students who may not have the means to pursue an education. Praxair’s Global Giving Program supports STEM curriculums at select schools and universities globally, as well as workforce development programs including welding scholarships and professional driver training.
