Parks + People = Community

Join us in connecting everyone in Baltimore to nature, their community and each other through vibrant parks and green spaces

  • Producing communities and goodwill among neighbors
  • Creating identity for people and place
  • Increasing mental health and physical activity
  • Reducing stress levels and mental fatigue
  • Improving air and water quality
  • Attracting wildlife and pollinators
  • Strengthening property values and homeownership rates

Grants

Parks & People helps communities transform vacant lots and unused space into community gardens, play spaces, outdoor classrooms and gathering spaces. We provide the resources and guidance to make the community’s vision a reality.

Interested applicants should contact Parks & People by filling out the brief online form. A staff person will follow up with you to set up a time to discuss your project and refer you to next steps that will help you prepare for your project.

Applications for funding are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly. Applicants must attend a project planning workshop prior to applying for a start-up grant however, all applicants are strongly encouraged to attend. Visit our greening calendar to sign up for the next project planning workshop.
