The Annals of Botany Company owns and manages the journal known as the Annals of Botany. The journal was founded in 1887 and is now the world’s oldest general plant science title. In 2009 the Company launched a second title, AoB Plants, an online, open-access plant science journal. Oxford University Press is the contractor currently selected by the Company to produce and publish both titles on its behalf.
Whenever the returns on its endowments permit, the Company makes small grants and donations (generally between £500 and £5000) to botanical scientists and organisations with a view to forwarding botanical science, assisting in relevant research, or allowing suitable individuals to attend relevant conferences, particularly where they subsequently present a paper to one of our journals or otherwise promote the Company’s objectives as a result of their attendance.
Applications for an Annals of Botany Company Grant are welcome although, in the present financial climate, funds are severely limited.
