To assist the advancement of historic preservation, the Foundation established the Roger Soderstrom Scholarship in 1980. This scholarship honours the late Roger Soderstrom’s work and career with the Government of Alberta, encouraging preservation and interpretation of Alberta’s heritage.
Born in Camrose on March 1, 1932, Roger William
Soderstrom built a career with the Government of
Alberta, encouraging the preservation and interpretation
of Alberta’s heritage. Following his death in a 1980 traffic
accident, the Foundation established this scholarship in
his honour to help advance historic preservation in
Alberta by assisting student research.

- The applicant must be a permanent Alberta resident enrolled in a graduate or extended study program with proposed research at that level in the fields of:
- Architectural preservation
- Urban or area planning and conservation
- Historic resource management
