Overview:

International Crop Science Award

The focus of this award is on creativity and innovation in bringing about specific changes in practices, products, and/or programs in the crops area at the international level. The award consists of a certificate, a complimentary ticket to the award ceremony, and $2,000.

Evaluation:

  • Creativity and innovation as reflected through the scientist's overall contribution
  • Evidence of credibility, integrity, and professionalism
  • Influence or impact of the nominee in a foreign country
  • Evidence of the nominee's contributions on long lasting change in some aspect of crop science at the international level
  • Educational contributions made either directly or indirectly through international graduate students
  • In recognition of the nonconventional environment in which the nominee is working, nonrefereed types of publications will be recognized

  • Nominator:
    • Nominators are required to be CSSA members.
  • Nominee:
    • Nominees are required to be CSSA members.
    • Teams are eligible if the following qualifications are met:
      • At least one member of the team is required to be a member of CSSA.
      • Where other disciplines are represented, the member(s) will be a major contributor (50% or more) to the team effort.
      • Only publications where all team members are authors or honors and awards received by the team will be listed. Individual efforts are to be omitted.

  • Former recipients of this Award are not eligible.
