The National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public educational foundation. Contributions are deductible charitable gifts.

Established in 1994, the National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation, also known as NGWREF, is focused on conducting educational, research, and other charitable activities related to a broader public understanding of groundwater. NGWREF is operated by the National Ground Water Association as a 501(c)(3) public foundation. Contributions are deductible charitable gifts.

Len Assante Scholarships are awarded annually to assist those studying in groundwater-related fields. An independent panel decides how to distribute the funds and the number of scholarships to be awarded from the pool of scholarship applicants.

Eligibility:

  • Scholarships are for full-time students enrolled in a post-secondary program for groundwater related-studies.
    • Examples of institutions that provide post-secondary education are vocational schools, community colleges, independent colleges, and universities.
