The LGBT Community Fund of Southwest Florida, a fund the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, is placing its annual call for letters of idea (LOI). This year, the LGBT Community Fund is seeking ideas to promote equality for LGBT community members receiving services in elder care and/or senior housing in Southwest Florida. Interested organizations begin the application process through completing the Letter of Idea. Projects or programs could include, but are not limited to, further research on elder care and/or senior housing for the LGBT community, a pilot program with existing organizations, or community education on elder care and/or senior housing for the LGBT community.

Compassionate Shark Tank (September 21)

LOIs will be narrowed based on alignment with the LGBT Community Fund priorities and the top collaborative programs/projects partners will be invited to the Compassionate Shark Tank. Applicants will be asked to prepare a three (3) minute presentation for the panel. The panel will then ask any questions that arise from on the LOI and presentation.

  • Nonprofit organizations exempt from Federal income taxes under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code and units of government are eligible.
  • Applicants must be located in or primarily serve residents of Lee, Charlotte, Hendry, Glades, and/or Collier counties.
  • Organizations must conduct business without discrimination on the basis of race, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, national origin, or religious affiliation.
