Overview:

The Louis and Dorothy Coover Regional Grantmaking Program, a partnership between Community Foundation of the Ozarks and The Commerce Trust Company, will award grants to agencies serving the Missouri Ozarks to support innovative, new, or collaborative efforts in all subject areas supported by the Foundation.

The Coover Grant Program has $250,000 to award to agencies providing services that address challenges which impact individuals in rural Ozarks communities, with a $10,000-$20,000 range suggested for proposal consideration.

Eligibility:

  • Eligible organizations with regional service areas primarily outside of metropolitan Springfield and Greene County but within the CFO service area are encouraged to apply.
    • This includes rural southern Missouri south of the Missouri River and outside the metro areas of St. Louis and Kansas City.
  • As part of the grant process, all grantees will be required to affirm that, in providing services funded in whole or in part by a CFO grant, the grantee will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status either in its employment practices or in its policies and procedures concerning access to services.

Preferences:

Ineligibility:

  • Applications which include services to individuals within Springfield and Greene County will not be considered.
  • Applications which request more than $20,000 will not be considered.
  • Applicants which have received Coover Grant Program support in 2017, 2018 or 2019 are not eligible for the 2019 grant round.
