New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU), headquartered in Williston, is a member-owned financial institution serving communities in the six counties of northwestern Vermont. With more than 88,000 members and $1 billion in assets, we are the largest Credit Union in Vermont. Anyone who lives, works or attends school in the six counties of northwestern Vermont (Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Washington and Lamoille) is eligible for membership.
At NEFCU, we're in the business of empowering our members to make good financial decisions so they can improve their overall quality of life. We offer solutions that are tailored to their needs and appropriate to their circumstances. We supplement these solutions with free programs in financial education, so that our members and the general public can develop sound money management skills that they can practice for a lifetime.
We provide our members with a full range of financial products and services, with very competitive rates, fewer fees and unparalleled levels of convenience. Our dedication to a higher standard of service and the value in our products help us to consistently exceed our members' expectations.
We understand that a local, Vermont-based financial institution can only be as strong as the communities which it serves. Therefore, we are actively engaged in community events and programs that help to improve the overall quality of life here.
Inspired by the National Science Foundation, NEFCU is helping to increase the number of individuals who choose careers in the hard sciences by providing annual scholarships to applicants who best demonstrate their commitment to science, technology, engineering or mathematics. NEFCU awards three $3,000 scholarships yearly to NEFCU members applying to or enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate science program.
