The New Mexico Chapter of The Wildlife Society is soliciting nominations for the Outstanding Student Award. This award will be presented at the Joint Annual Meeting of the New Mexico and Arizona Chapters of The Wildlife Society and the Arizona/New Mexico Chapter of the American Fisheries Society.

The Outstanding Student Award is given annually to a student who, while attending college or university in New Mexico, made a significant contribution to wildlife science, management, or conservation within the state.

  • Any undergraduate or graduate student may be nominated for this award.
  • The Outstanding Student Award may be given to students for a single, exemplary act, or for a more long-term demonstration of outstanding performance.
  • Students are eligible for one year following graduation from a New Mexico institute of higher education. 


  •  Students pursuing a degree in wildlife or a wildlife-related field will be given preference.
