Overview:

The Agricultural Commodity Marketing Division is responsible for the domestic and worldwide promotion/marketing of Pennsylvania agribusiness products and services, and developing and administering programs to assist agribusinesses in locating and/or expanding within the Commonwealth. These efforts to increase both domestic and international sales of agricultural and food products produced in Pennsylvania has an important impact on the profitability of farmers and agribusinesses.

The programs include the Specialty Crops Grant Program, Agricultural Commodity Boards, Agricultural Trade, and PA Preferred, the state branding program.

Agricultural Fair

An annual agricultural exhibition contributing to the development of several or many phases of agriculture or agribusiness by the conduct of educational programs, activities, demonstrations, contests and exhibits.

PA Fair Fund: Capital Improvement Matching Grants

Pursuant to the Pennsylvania Agricultural Fair Act of 1986, funds are made available to agricultural fairs, agricultural youth organizations and statewide organizations with an agricultural mission through the Pennsylvania Fair Fund.

Capital Improvement Matching Grants assist agricultural fairs with resources to build new and maintain existing physical structures on their fairgrounds. Fairs are eligible to receive grants up to $25,000.

The PA Fair Advisory Board meets annually to review grant applications and outline a payment plan contingent upon available funding.
