About this funder:
Helping Communities Thrive
The PPL Foundation promotes the development of sustainable communities and supports our children’s success from cradle to career.
Delivering safe, reliable and affordable power to our customers is our primary role, but we know there are other ways to empower a community. Supporting innovative education programs, helping to revitalize neighborhoods and fostering the development of the future workforce are ways PPL helps to strengthen the communities it serves.
PPL goes beyond its core business by focusing its energy on being a good neighbor through a long-standing commitment to corporate citizenship. Our commitment to the environment, philanthropic contributions and the dedicated volunteerism of our employees allow us to improve the communities in which we live, work and serve.
Philanthropic Focus Areas
As a keystone in each of the communities we serve, the PPL Foundation contributes millions of dollars annually, partnering with nonprofit organizations working in the following areas.
Building a strong foundation is critical to the success of today’s students. Contributions in this area will support equitable and engaging high-quality educational opportunities for all students, with a particular emphasis on those in need. Programs supported through grants include, but are not limited to – early childhood education; science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs; literacy; summer learning; and career and college preparatory programs.
A strong community is one in which all residents are empowered to fulfill their potential. Improving the lives and well-being of residents in central and eastern Pennsylvania by fostering the development of safe, strong and sustainable communities is a primary objective of the PPL Foundation. Funding priorities include support for emergency and disaster preparedness, environmental conservation initiatives and neighborhood improvement programs.
Grants support nonprofit organizations working to improve the lives and well-being of residents by improving education and fostering the development of safe, strong and sustainable communities. Applications will be accepted August through September 15.
