Overview:

Universities across Canada may submit proposals to the AWFC for any lectures related to animal welfare that are promoted to the general public, as well as to the student body.

In the past, we have funded lectures hosted by the Guelph veterinary school or UBC’s animal welfare program. However, as of this year, we are opening up the application process to other universities and other faculties that may have an interest in animal welfare issues (e.g. Faculties of Law, Medicine, Environmental Science, Centres for Applied Ethics, Journalism, etc.).

Up to $2k in funding is available to help pay for costs related to travel or honorariums for guest speakers, as well as some promotion costs.

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website.

Eligibility:

  • Universities across Canada are eligible to apply.

Ineligibility:

  • AWFC does not pay for food and beverages served at such events.
