The aim of the bursary is to enable a student to take the opportunity to study or research either an independent or collaborative forestry project. The bursary can be used to fund all or part of travel and subsistence, both in the UK and abroad. The bursary can be awarded annually and the amount offered (to a maximum of £600.00) is at the discretion of the committee. It is only awarded to someone born or living in Yorkshire or making a study of a forestry issue which affects Yorkshire. A condition of the award is that the successful applicant must write a feature article or technical paper for submission to the Quarterly Journal of Forestry.
