Overview:

We are keen to support participation by PhD students and early career scientists (<10 years post-PhD or leaving full time education) in scientific conferences and workshops. Our Travel Grants for PhD Students and Early Career Scientists give two options for our members to fund their travels...

For those attending RSC meetings (Non-competitive Grant)

Members travelling to attend RSC-run conferences or workshops may be entitled to a non-competitive grant of up to £200.

Please see the application form for full details of eligible meetings. These are assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Please note that these grants are intended for travel only and applicants should not apply for conference registration, subsistence or accommodation expenses.

For everyone else (Competitive Grant)

Members may also apply to their Division for a competitive grant for their attendance at any scientific conference or workshop anywhere in the world.

Grants are available to cover domestic (up to £200), continental (up to £400) and intercontinental (up to £800) travel to meetings where applicants give oral or poster presentations (we will also consider applicants not intending to present if their attendance will be a significant benefit to their career). Please note that these grants are intended for travel only and applicants should not apply for conference registration, subsistence or accommodation expenses.
