SCI Mission

SCI Foundation funds and directs wildlife programs dedicated to wildlife conservation and outdoor education. 

Four Year Conservation Scholarships

Each year a group of outstanding students entering their freshman year of college are awarded scholarships valued at $4,800 and distributed at $1,200 per year for four years.

Eligibility:

  • High School students or non-traditional students entering college of their choice for the first time and majoring in natural resources or related field may apply.
  • Applicants must be committed to sustainable use of natural resources and the role of our hunting heritage.
  • Applicant must not have any record of being convicted of a felony violation.
  • Applicant must be accepted into an accredited four year college or university.
  • Applicant must have documented academic ability. Applicant need not be at the top of his/her class, but must have demonstrated a capacity to succeed in a chosen course of study. 

Preferences:

  • Preference is given to applicants seeking a degree in/or related field of conservation such as natural resources management, forestry, environmental studies, conservation education, wildlife enforcement, outdoor education/recreation or animal science.
  • Preference is given to graduates of the SCIF American Wilderness Leadership School (AWLS) high school program.

Ineligibility:

  • The immediate family or household members of the SCI or SCIF Board of Directors and employees of SCI/SCIF are not eligible for the scholarship program.
