Overview:

NOTE: There is no deadline to apply for this grant. All applications will be processed on receipt of the form by the Society office. Apply at least 8 weeks before the meeting.

The Event Support Grant is available to Full, ECS, International or Life Members wanting financial support for an applied microbiology meeting, symposium or practical workshop. These meetings may be organized by local or national groups with a special interest in applied microbiology. The grant is aimed at supporting the promotion of the science of applied microbiology at a local level as well as providing a networking opportunity for established scientists and students working in applied microbiology.

Eligibility:

  • The applicant/main organiser must be an existing Full, International or ECS Member of SfAM and have been so for a minimum of 12 months and have paid their second consecutive subscription to be eligible to apply.
  • Life Members may also apply.
  • The grant will cover reasonable speaker expenses, including travel and if necessary one night’s hotel accommodation (only for speakers not delegates).
  • Additionally, the grant may be used to contribute towards the cost of room hire, AV equipment, publicity materials and printing.
