This award is to recognise excellence and emerging talent in research related to lipids, in any field across the physical and life sciences and engineering. Example areas include (but are not restricted to) neuroscience, digestion and metabolism, crystallisation of triacylglycerols, functioning of phospholipid membranes, compositional analysis, processing and disease prevention.
The award consists of £100 prize money, a certificate, and one year complimentary membership of SCI (worth £25). The winner will also be eligible to give an oral presentation at EuroFedLipid 2016 in Ghent, Belgium. SCI will cover expenses up to the value of £400 for attendance at this event.
