Mission Statement

The mission of the Solana Beach Fund is to address and fund community needs and to build local philanthropy through ongoing and legacy gifts. The fund is part of Coastal Community Foundation which has been serving the North Coast for almost 30 years. The mission of the Foundation is to enhance the quality of life in the San Diego North Coastal area by directing philanthropic efforts towards community needs. 


The Founding Members of the Solana Beach Fund value connecting residents to community needs through intergenerational involvement and community building and encouraging service to community.

The Solana Beach Fund provides sufficient oversight to ensure that grants are distributed for charitable purposes and are administered in accordance with established standards and best practices. 


The Solana Beach Fund supports a Thriving Community that builds strong nonprofits, supports neighborhoods and families and ensures vibrant culture. Grant funds may be requested for new activities, to expand current programs, to make them more effective or to improve organizational efficiency in delivering services. 

Grants are for one year only. Organizations may apply for a grant annually.

  • Nonprofit organizations in San Diego County who provide services and programs in the City of Solana Beach are eligible to apply. 
  • Programs must be in Solana Beach. 


  • Preference will be given to organizations with budgets less than $2 million. 


  • Grants will not be considered for fund raising events, endowment campaigns, travel, religious or political advocacy or for programs and services outside of Solana Beach
