Overview:

The Corliss Knapp Engle Scholarship in Horticulture was established in 2010 to encourage the development of research, documentation, and teaching skills in the field of horticulture.

This program funds one or more scholarships annually at $3000 to support study at an accredited college, university, or major botanic garden or arboretum. Projects may include but are not restricted to plant propagation, photographic documentation of studies and research projects, the acquisition of skills for working with horticulture collections, and research in horticulture in the broadest sense.

Eligibility:

  • Projects may include but are not restricted to:
    • Plant propagation
    • Photographic documentation of studies and research projects
    • The acquisition of skills for working with horticulture collections
    • Research in horticulture in the broadest sense
  • Open to college undergraduates and graduate students, advanced degree candidates, or non-degree-seeking applicants above the high school level  studying at an accredited college, university or major botanic garden or arboretum.
  • Eligibility is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled in a U.S. - based institution. 

Ineligibility:

  • Only one GCA Scholarship, fellowship or award may be applied for annually.
