Overview:

Established by Mrs Ivy Sleep in fulfillment of the wishes of her daughter, Dr Anne Sleep FLS. Awards of up to £3,000 are made at (odd-numbered) two year intervals.


Awards are made at (odd numbered) two year intervals: applications open on 1 March and the deadline is 16 September in the years 2017, 2019, 2021 etc.

Eligibility:

  • Those selected for awards should normally have recently obtained a PhD at a recognised institution and be of the highest academic standing.

  • Scholars should either be:

    • carrying out biological research in the Middle or Far East; or 

    • from the Middle or Far East pursuing their own biological research in the UK.

Preferences:

  • Proposals showing evidence of collaboration with other individuals and organisations will be favoured.
