Overview:

The Westchester Community Foundation has announced the Westchester COVID-19 Response Fund to deploy resources to established, frontline community organizations meeting the basic needs of local residents in the wake of this global pandemic. The Fund’s purpose is to minimize social and economic consequences going forward, and its resources will be directed to organizations serving high-need, vulnerable populations.

The Fund is designed to be flexible in its focus, nimble in its action, and to complement other resources at the local, state, and national levels. This fund is in addition to a $1 million contribution by RXR Realty to the RXR Building Community Fund at the Westchester Community Foundation.

Grants will cover up to four months of your organization’s unanticipated expenses due to the coronavirus crisis and are expected to be between $5,000 and $50,000.

What we will fund

Grants will be awarded to cover the costs of up to four months of your organization’s unanticipated, additional expenses directly related to the coronavirus in Westchester County. The goal of the Fund is to stabilize and strengthen human services nonprofits so that they can continue to meet their clients’ needs.

The Foundation is keenly aware that economically vulnerable Westchester residents face pressing needs including food, rent and utilities. It is assessing countywide approaches to these needs, including policy responses.

Child care

With support from the Covid-19 Response Fund, requests for financial assistance for child care for children of first responders, essential workers, and low-income families will be considered by the Child Care Council of Westchester. Please contact Kathy Halas of the Child Care Council at [email protected]
