We believe in giving back to the communities where our employees live, work and play. The Foundation plays an important role in WestRock’s program of engaging communities, involving employees, and supporting areas of special interest to the company to help shape positive change.
At WestRock, caring about our communities is part of who we are as a company. It reflects our values around integrity, respect, accountability and excellence. The WestRock Foundation plays an important role in the company’s program of engaging our communities and involving our employees to help shape positive change.
Across our diverse efforts, the Foundation focuses on three key areas for strategic grants and volunteer initiatives:
To thrive as a whole, different aspects of our communities need our care. We partner with organizations that help people and families rely on themselves, and offer support to their neighbors. Our support of central business districts gives communities a strong center around which to grow. And our work with youth programs nurture tomorrow's community leaders.
The chance to learn is critical to success. We help guarantee access to education for people of all ages, including WestRock employee families. We fund specific efforts to ensure tomorrow's workforce is both creative and well-qualified. And we help create civic dialogue on issues that matter the most to all of us.
Our natural environment must be preserved for current and future generations to use and enjoy. We help educate through programs, outdoor learning centers and other facilities. And we team with leaders in science and public policy to learn and share more about care for our ecosystems and responsible land management.
