Washington Goes Purple Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students that reside in Washington County, MD, are continuing their education, and have been affected by substance use.

The Russell, John; Dentistry Scholarship, offered by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, aims to support a graduating senior from Beatrice High School pursuing a career in dentistry. This $2,000 scholarship is disbursed in two installments, contingent on continued enrollment in a dentistry program. It is designed for students with financial need, providing invaluable assistance for tuition, room and board, or books during their undergraduate studies.

Stark Community FoundationStark Community Foundation is one of the area’s major sources of college scholarship support— thanks to the generosity of caring individuals, families and businesses that have created scholarship funds. The Foundation currently manages more than 100 scholarship funds that support hundreds of deserving students each year from Stark and Carroll counties. In 2025, more than $1,000,000 was awarded to local students to help them achieve their educational dreams.The Canton Professional Educators' Scholarships FundThe Canton Professional Educators’ Scholarships Fund was established to assist high school graduates enrolled in an academic plan (college/university, 2-year vocational, technical or advanced study). Applicants must be the natural or adopted child of a CPEA member, must have achieved a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or above, and college students must be “a student in good standing.”Renewable scholarship: No

Bethany's Butterflies Scholarship Program, managed by the St. Croix Valley Foundation, offers up to $500 for Wisconsin students aged 21 or younger with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). This scholarship supports enhanced learning and recreational experiences in Polk, St. Croix, or Pierce County. Applications are reviewed monthly without a hard deadline, as long as funds are available. This initiative honors the memory of Bethany Mazur, aiming to create lasting impacts through educational opportunities.

The nccPA Health Foundation's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - PAs STEP Up Grant aims to empower PAs and PA students to create initiatives that enhance diversity and foster inclusive practices within the PA profession. With funding up to $2,500, this grant encourages projects that raise awareness of the PA profession among underrepresented groups, ultimately striving to reduce health disparities and promote equity. Applications are accepted year-round, providing ongoing support for impactful community-driven efforts.

AACN2: Pathway to Critical Care Nursing Scholarship

Overview

The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN-Critical Care) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN-Colleges) are partnering to provide scholarships to prelicensure nursing students interested in practicing in critical care settings. Administered by the Foundation for Academic Nursing, the AACN2: Pathway to Critical Care Nursing Scholarship will provide $2,500 in support to eligible students enrolled in entry-level baccalaureate nursing programs who are committed to providing expert care to patients at their most vulnerable.

Scholarship Details

This year, we will be distributing eight $2,500 scholarships to prelicensure nursing students who are interested in pursuing careers in critical care nursing ($20,000 in scholarships).

The Betsy & Ryan Colwell Mentorship Scholarships for Women in Thoracic Surgery support early-career female cardiothoracic surgeons by facilitating mentor relationships and networking opportunities at the WTS Annual Conference. Each scholarship, valued at $2,500, covers conference registration, lodging, and travel expenses. Two scholarships will be awarded annually starting in 2025, aiming to empower women in a specialty where they are underrepresented and help them navigate their challenging career path.

The Barbara Bass Community College Scholarship, offered by the East Texas Communities Foundation, supports graduating seniors who are first-generation college students living in Tyler, Texas. This renewable scholarship aims to assist students attending any community college in the United States while considering financial need through FASFA. Founded in 1989, the Foundation promotes educational opportunities, reflecting the belief in education's transformative power for young individuals.

The McKernon Scholarship, offered by the St. Croix Valley Foundation, supports financial need-based students from Pierce County, particularly targeting graduates of Elmwood High School and non-traditional learners pursuing their first degree. The Foundation, a prominent philanthropic organization, aims to foster local impact through generous donations, having facilitated over $100 million in grants since its establishment in 1995. This scholarship embodies their mission to enhance community prosperity and empower individuals through education.

Business & Professional Women's Club

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a school in Henderson County and show strong academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be pursuing their undergraduate education in a two- or four-year accredited institution.

The Juliette M. Atherton Scholarships support Protestant ministers pursuing advanced theological education in the U.S., particularly those who have completed a seminary degree. Applicants must be ordained ministers, residents of Hawai’i, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. Funding is available for up to four years, requiring annual reapplication. This scholarship aims to enhance educational opportunities for ministers committed to their faith and community.

Bright Futures Scholarship Fund

Successful candidates should be focused, energetic individuals who demonstrate a high level of personal initiative.

Next Jazz Legacy is a mentorship program that supports emerging jazz artists through intergenerational mentorship, performance opportunities, and professional networking. Funded by the Mellon Foundation and led by renowned artist Terri Lyne Carrington, the initiative aims to provide a comprehensive support package to seven artists annually from 2025 to 2027. Awardees will receive financial investment, mentorship, and learning opportunities to help them thrive in their careers and contribute to a vibrant jazz future.

The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Jr. Scholarship Program, established by the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Jr. Foundation in partnership with UNCF, supports students attending UNCF member institutions, HBCUs, or other accredited four-year colleges. This renewable merit-based scholarship aims to enhance educational opportunities for residents of specific counties in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, particularly focusing on those majoring in education or STEM fields.

The Pharmacy Leadership Scholars program, offered by the ASHP Research and Education Foundation, is a competitive grant initiative aimed at early-stage pharmacist researchers focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in healthcare. Washington County Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship

Founded by alumni of Washington County Hospital’s School of Nursing, this fund serves to provide scholarships to deserving students who are continuing their education in Nursing.

The HHIBAC Scholarship Program, established by the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, awards scholarships to graduating high school female seniors of African American descent from Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, May River, or Hardeeville schools. Eligible applicants must pursue a degree at a four-year accredited institution, maintaining a 2.75 GPA, and submit a transcript, letters of recommendation, and a typed essay to qualify for this opportunity.

The Clarence Lee Lester Educational Fund, administered by the Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia, provides scholarships to deserving students pursuing higher education. Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA and a connection to First Baptist Church in Martinsville, VA. This scholarship aims to support capable individuals in their academic journeys, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their educational aspirations. Changemaker Scholarship

The Napa Valley Community Foundation Changemaker Scholarship benefits one exceptional graduating senior who attends a high school in Napa County and demonstrates drive, vision, and potential to succeed. Applicants may be the first person in their family to attend college or come from a middle-income household that will find it difficult to afford college. Applicants must have a strong academic record coupled with demonstrated leadership qualities, extra-curricular activities, and heavy involvement in the community. Recipients must attend a top-tier, four-year college/university and will receive funding for up to four years of undergraduate study.

Award Amount:

up to $10,000 per year and renewable for up to four years. Scholarship award amount will be based upon overall financial aid already received and any remaining funding gaps.

Anthony Kushigian (Normac) Scholarship

The student should demonstrate scholastic ability, financial need, character, leadership ability, participation in extracurricular activities, be of good moral character, and reflect a willingness to work, learn and pursue their education.

The Reach Your Potential scholarship, provided by the Hamilton County Community Foundation, aims to empower Indiana residents by offering financial assistance for vocational, technical, or trade school education. This initiative supports students in gaining marketable skills, ensuring they can become self-sufficient and achieve their full potential. Preference is given to full-time students who demonstrate financial need and community involvement, fostering a brighter future for the community.

Tom and Betty Herold Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible by the generosity of Thomas M. and Elizabeth L. Herold.

The Herold Scholarship is to be awarded to high school graduate(s) from a Randolph County, Indiana high school. The scholarship is awarded annually to one of the high schools on a rotational basis in the following order (or in the school consolidated), and then repeated: Randolph Central School Corporation (Winchester Community High School), Randolph Eastern School Corporation (Union City Jr./Sr. High School), Randolph Southern School Corporation, Monroe Central Jr./Sr. High School, Union School Corporation. Students must be pursuing a two- or four- year secondary degree.

The Joyce Bright Scholarship Award, established by the Tulsa Community Foundation in 1998, aims to provide financial assistance for higher education to deserving students. Eligible applicants are high school graduates from Tulsa County, Oklahoma, who have demonstrated academic excellence by ranking in the top 3% of their class. This scholarship reflects the Foundation's commitment to empowering local communities and supporting educational aspirations.

The Swans Island Education Achievement Trust Fund, established in 1997 by the Maine Community Foundation, offers scholarship support to non-traditional residents of Swans Island pursuing further education beyond high school. This fund aims to assist those seeking college, vocational, or technical training, focusing on individual achievement, community service, and financial need. Scholarships may be renewable for up to four years, promoting educational advancement and community growth.

The Helene Stoller Scholarship, established in September 2023 by Dr. Helene Stoller, aims to support students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math. This merit and need-based scholarship targets those with strong financial needs and academic excellence. Managed by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, it covers various educational expenses, ensuring equitable access regardless of race, gender, or background. Applications are reviewed by a dedicated committee to select deserving recipients.

The J.D. Fletcher Family Scholarship Award, established by the Tulsa Community Foundation in 1998, supports graduating seniors from Creek County, Oklahoma. Eligible applicants must plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university and pursue a bachelor's degree in science. This scholarship aims to foster education and empower local students to achieve their academic goals, contributing to a vibrant community and a brighter future.

William and Bess Osheroff Memorial Scholarship

William Osheroff was born in Omaha and grew up in Erickson, Nebraska. He earned his Bachelor of Science and his Masters and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Nebraska.

A member of the Grays Harbor Medical Association and the American Medical Association, Dr. Osheroff became known on the Harbor as an excellent physician who cared deeply about the community. A general practitioner, he trained to work as a cardiologist and introduced cardiac care services to the Harbor after recognizing that such services were badly needed in the community. Before the technology became commercially available, Dr. Osheroff developed a device for sending EKG tracings over the phone, allowing him to keep better track of his patients’ heart conditions. In 1972, he became a member of the American College of Cardiology.

Like her husband, Bess Osheroff cared deeply about the communities of Grays Harbor and worked to improve the quality of life and health of her neighbors. Born in Jessup, Pennsylvania and raised in Emporia, Virginia, Bess Osheroff became a Registered Nurse through New York City’s Cumberland Hospital School of Nursing.

Together, Bess and her husband helped organize the first Red Cross Blood Drive on Grays Harbor. Bess continued to organize blood drives for twenty years. William and Bess had a daughter and four sons, one of whom died in 1977. Bess died in November 1996, a month after seeing her son Doug, a Stanford physics professor, win the Nobel Prize in Physics.

While preference will be given to applicants interested in studying science or medicine, the William and Bess Osheroff Memorial Scholarship is open to all applicants who satisfy the general eligibility requirements of the Scholarship Program.
