Best Health Care Grants in Arizona

The Arizona Citrus Research Council (ACRC) offers grants to support research and solutions for Arizona Citrus producers. With approximately $75,000 available, projects may focus on pest eradication, production techniques, varietal development, technology enhancements, or developing HLB/ACP resistant trees. The Thunderbirds Scholarship

The Thunderbirds scholarship provides a four-year, full ride opportunity for two Arizona high school graduates (or equivalent) attending either Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, or University of Arizona as an incoming freshman. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, and/or overcoming significant odds, as well as demonstrating service and leadership during their high school career. Students are required to live on-campus for at least the first year and will be mentored by Education Forward Arizona. This scholarship will be renewed each year if required criteria is maintained.

Ember Grants

Ember grants provide flexible funding to grassroots groups doing critical, community-rooted work. 

Designed to meet organizations where they are, ember supports emerging leaders and smaller organizations building more just and resilient systems across Arizona.

Ember recognizes that sustainable impact requires more than funding alone. It requires trust, relationships, and support. 

The Arizona Iceberg Lettuce Research Council (AILRC) Grant supports Arizona iceberg lettuce producers by providing funding for research that identifies solutions to production issues. With approximately $63,000 available for this grant cycle, the AILRC aims to make research findings accessible to producers. Funding primarily comes from assessments on packed iceberg lettuce, ensuring that the grants are sustainable and beneficial for the industry over multiple years.

Valle del Sol’s Rosa Carrillo Torres Memorial Scholarship

This fund provides scholarships for seniors in good standing who will graduate from the Phoenix Union High School District and are of Hispanic heritage. Preference is given to low income and first generation to attend college. Preference given to, but not limited to, students pursuing a major in a health care field or communications.

Each PLTW Engineering course engages students in interdisciplinary activities like working with a client to design a home, programming electronic devices or robotic arms, or exploring algae as a biofuel source. These activities not only build knowledge and skills in engineering, but also empower students to develop essential skills such as problem solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and perseverance.

Through this partnership, Intel Foundation has committed funds to support PLTW grants to schools interested in starting or expanding PLTW programs beginning in the 2027-2028 academic year.

Program Requirements: 

• Grantee must offer at least one PLTW Engineering course in the 2027-2028 academic year and must offer one additional course each academic year of the grant period (two different courses in two years). 
• Schools may implement any PLTW Engineering courses of their choosing. 
• Grantee must complete two years of Grant reporting.

The WM Four Corners Scholarship Program, administered by Scholarship America, aims to support students pursuing a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic major at accredited colleges or vocational schools in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Texas. This initiative addresses the need for financial assistance in education, particularly for underrepresented groups. Scholarship America has a long-standing commitment to making higher education accessible, having awarded over $5.7 billion in scholarships since its inception.

The Sundt Foundation, established in 1999, supports local communities by offering grants and volunteer opportunities for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Focused on youth development, hunger and nutrition, and veteran services, the Foundation prioritizes projects in regions such as the Southwest and Southeast United States. However, they do not fund requests exceeding $25,000 or support multi-year pledges, fundraising events, or political causes. Their mission continues to foster community connections and belonging.

Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victims Assistance - DPS VOCA Administration Unit

Overview/Mission Statement:

Every victim of crime is entitled to safety, healing, justice and restitution. The mission of the Arizona Department of Public Safety's VOCA Administration Unit is to effectively administer VOCA Assistance funds by ensuring appropriate and accessible services are available to crime victims, enhancing the delivery of those services through technical assistance, training opportunities, and promoting a continuum of care for every victim in every community.

Crime Victims Fund

The Department of Justice, Crime Victims Fund was established by the Federal Victims of Crime Act of 1984 (VOCA) and serves as a major funding source for victim services throughout the country. Each year, millions of dollars are deposited into this fund from criminal fines, forfeited bail bonds, penalty fees and special assessments collected by the US Attorney’s Offices, US Courts and the Bureau of Prisons. These dollars all come from offenders convicted of federal crimes.

In 1985, the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) was designated as the administrator of the state’s VOCA Assistance Program. The purpose of this program is to provide funding for governmental and non-profit agencies that provide direct services to crime victims. These funds are not awarded to private individuals.

The purpose of the VOCA funding is to promote efforts that:

• Respond to the emotional, psychological or physical needs of crime victims;
• Assist victims to stabilize their lives after victimization;
• Assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system; or
• Restore a measure of security and safety for the victim.

The Arizona Conservation Stewardship Grant, managed by the USDA's NRCS, supports agricultural producers in enhancing land management through conservation practices. With year-round applications, this program encourages sustainable practices that improve crop resilience, wildlife habitat, and overall land productivity. Participants can expect annual payments for implementing approved conservation activities, allowing them to achieve better resource management and environmental stewardship. This initiative aims to foster a significant positive impact on both agriculture and natural resources across the state.

The Quality Jobs Fund, a $100 million initiative, aims to enhance community well-being by creating sustainable, well-paid jobs and providing skill development in underserved areas, primarily Arizona, California, and Nevada. By funding intermediaries, the program supports organizations that offer financing for small business growth and job training. This initiative focuses on long-term employment opportunities that ensure a living wage, safe working conditions, and pathways for upward mobility, ultimately fostering economic stability for working families.

The NAU Astronomy REU Program offers undergraduate students a paid opportunity to engage in research at Northern Arizona University during the summer months. Participants receive a $7000 stipend, potential travel reimbursement, and housing accommodations. The program includes seminars and hands-on experience with local telescopes, fostering skills in astronomy and planetary science. Applications are competitive and targeted at students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and currently enrolled in a degree program.

The Archer-Ragsdale Arizona Chapter Tuskegee Airmen Inc. Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors in Arizona, particularly those who have attended the Aerospace Career Education Academy. This scholarship honors the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen by awarding two scholarships to deserving students with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who are Black or African American and demonstrate financial need. This initiative not only fosters educational advancement but also preserves the history of these remarkable individuals.

The Genung Scholarship

The Genung Scholarship Fund was established as a generous lasting legacy of Normal & Eleanor Genung. The scholarship is intended to support first-generation college students with gaps between their cost of attendance and financial aid package, while attending any public Arizona post-secondary institution. Recipients may be eligible to renew their awards for up to 4 years, if good academic standing is maintained.

The Medical Student Education Program (MSE) supports public medical schools in states facing primary care provider shortages, aiming to enhance medical education for future physicians. Eligible states include those in the top quartile projected to face shortages by 2038. Currently, 12 states such as Alabama and Texas are recognized, with 23 public medical schools identified as potential beneficiaries. Note that current MSE grantees are ineligible for the 2026 funding cycle.

Arizona Department of Housing

The Arizona Department of Housing is a cabinet-level agency created in 2002 by the State legislature to serve as the State’s primary agency to address housing issues. Primarily funded through Federal resources and fees, the agency administers and allocates housing and community development resources, serves as the state Public Housing Authority and Performance-Based Contract Administrator, and regulates Arizona’s manufactured housing and building industry.

HOME Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Notice of Funding

Lake Design Foundation Scholarship

Award-winning interior designer Lawrence Lake, ASID, owner of Lawrence Lake Interiors in downtown Tempe, created the Lake Design Foundation Fund Scholarship to support students majoring in Interior Design who demonstrate outstanding creative potential. Students must be enrolled full time in undergraduate study in Interior Design and planning to pursue a career in interior design. The purpose is to identify students who will become the next generation of talent.

The Judge Paul Rosenblatt Scholarship is open to any law student at the University of Arizona from Yavapai County.

The Diminished Tree Species Grant Program focuses on restoring native tree species crucial for biodiversity and forest health. By funding scientific research, seed orchard development, and land preservation, the program aims to combat climate change through effective tree restoration projects. The Oak Hill Fund, a private entity, encourages project-specific applications, prioritizing organizations that meet eligibility criteria under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS. This initiative is vital for sustaining healthy ecosystems and mitigating environmental impacts.

The AZ Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) aims to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops grown in the U.S. or its territories. Funded by the USDA, approximately $1.25 million is available for grants, with a maximum request of $100,000 per project. Eligible projects include marketing efforts, research assistance, and addressing challenges faced by specialty crop producers. The FY26 Bureau of Land Management Youth Conservation Corps program aims to engage youth aged 16-30, including veterans and tribal members, in hands-on conservation projects. These initiatives foster skills in natural resource management, promote public land stewardship, and enhance community involvement through trail building, habitat restoration, and cultural resource preservation. By partnering with qualified youth corps, the program supports economic growth and environmental health while preparing the next generation of public land stewards.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation supports Arizona-based organizations through its Charitable Event Sponsorship Process. Grant opportunities are offered to programs addressing chronic conditions, mental health, health equity, and substance use disorders. Non-profit organizations and academic institutions are eligible for funding, while lobbying and capital expenditures are excluded. Applications are accepted starting in January, with reviews conducted on the 15th of each month, promoting impactful health initiatives across the state.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant for schools to implement the PLTW Biomedical Science program for the 2026-2029 academic years. Eligible schools can receive up to $14,000 to cover participation fees and training costs. This grant encourages public, private, and charter schools across the U.S. to enhance their science curriculum, supporting students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Schools must commit to offering specific courses during the grant period to qualify for funding.

Jack's Community Grants, managed by the Jack in the Box Foundation, seeks to empower youth in local communities by providing funding to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. These organizations must focus on feeding, educating, and empowering youth and operate within 50 miles of a Jack in the Box restaurant. The Foundation promotes originality and opportunity while ensuring that applicants adhere to a nondiscrimination policy. Special consideration is given to applications with support from franchisees or employees.

The Adelante Scholarship, offered by Education Forward Arizona in partnership with the Helios Education Foundation and Aliento, aims to empower young adults pursuing higher education. Recipients receive financial support of up to $5,000 annually for bachelor's students and $2,500 for associate degree students, along with comprehensive programming including coaching and peer networking. This scholarship is renewable for one year, focusing on supporting eligible DACA and undocumented students who have graduated from Arizona high schools.
