Project Types and Area of Interest

Projects that will be considered for Pfizer support will focus on basic science and fundamental biological understanding of Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor (TFPI), anti-TFPI Monoclonal Antibodies, and marstacimab. The areas of interest may include (but are not limited to):

• Basic biology of TFPI including interactions among key regulatory proteins in the intrinsic and/or extrinsic clotting cascades (e.g. Protein S being a co-factor for both Protein C and TFPI).
• Impact of differential TFPI expression within tissues and the role of various TFPI pools/isoforms in the regulation of coagulation.
• Pharmacology resulting from concomitant therapies added to anti-TFPI

Purpose of Scholarship

For a graduating senior who is hard-working, focused, thoughtful, caring, selfless, and dedicated to continuous learning.

Number and Size of Awards

One award of $1,000; paid in one lump sum in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters. A second award of $500 may also be given.

Accelerating the Development of Combined CGM–Pump Devices

A combined continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and insulin pump device represents an innovative approach to simplifying diabetes management by integrating two essential technologies into a single device. This approach has the potential to improve quality of life for people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) by reducing the burden associated with wearing and managing multiple devices.

Despite this promise, the development of combined CGM–pump devices presents technical and commercialization challenges. These include the need for further advances in device compatibility and lifespan, system reliability, and scalable manufacturing, while maintaining affordability and broadaccessibility. In addition, a potential insulin dilution effect may require adjustment of the CGM algorithm.

Breakthrough T1D invites applications for research and development projects that address key technical, clinical, and translational challenges related to combined CGM–pump devices, with the goal of accelerating their development and improving outcomes for people living with T1D.

In response to this announcement, applications may request up to a total of $900,000 USD for up to three years. 

The Anna B. Glauser Trust Grants provide financial support to organizations aiding physically handicapped individuals, particularly blind residents in Delaware County, PA. Established in memory of Willis K. Glauser, the trust awards 1-2 grants annually, ranging from $2,500 to $5,000. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) certified, while funding for salaries is typically excluded. GBA1 Parkinson's Disease Research Catalyst Program

The GBA1-PD Research Catalyst Program seeks to build a deeper, globally integrated understanding of GBA1-associated Parkinson’s disease by aligning efforts across geographies and maximizing the value of shared datasets and research assets. Funding will support hypothesis- driven projects with an emphasis on integrative, cross-cohort analyses and the systematic characterization and standardization of models to enable broad use by the research community.

Keith Brabant Music Scholarship Application

The Keith Brabant Music Scholarship committee is interested in finding and assisting young aspiring musicians who are willing to put in the hard work to pursue their talent, but are in need of financial help. This scholarship is to assist those with a documented financial need. Monies may be used for a broad range of music related activities (college, lessons, instruments, books, summer music camp, etc.).
