Over many years, the scholarships have provided nearly $3.5 million to credit union members to further their education. This investment not only advances the professional development and educational goals of Civic members, but also strengthens the communities they serve — amplifying their leadership impact and deepening their ability to drive meaningful change across North Carolina.

Civic Foundation Scholarship

Each year, Civic proudly awards $5,000 scholarships to 25 Civic members who are graduating high school seniors and are planning to attend a four-year college or university. These one-time scholarships are paid directly to the student’s school in a single installment and may be applied toward tuition, textbooks, computers, or other educational expenses.

The NASPGHAN Foundation offers a one-year grant to pediatric dietitians aimed at enhancing nutrition care for children with nutritional disorders. Grants ranging from $500 to $5000 will be awarded, with funding distributed in December 2025. Applicants must be Registered Dietitians, CPNP members in good standing, and have a sustained interest in pediatric nutrition. Recipients are required to provide a financial statement and present findings at the 2027 CPNP annual symposium.

St. Peter’s Troop 118 Scouting BSA Scholarship Fund

The St. Peter’s Troop 118 Scouting BSA Scholarship Fund provides an annual scholarship to Boy Scouts who are active in Troop 118 and plan to further their education at a local tuition-based high school in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

This is a one-time scholarship with no option for renewal.

The Distinguished Service Award, presented by the American Pediatric Surgical Association (APSA), recognizes individuals for their lifetime commitment and significant contributions to pediatric surgery. This prestigious honor highlights a nominee's wide-ranging impact on the field and their dedication to advancing surgical care for children. Nominations are vital, as the frequency of the award is determined by the APSA Board, ensuring that exemplary service is celebrated appropriately.

The Bellevue Heights Church Foundation, established over 30 years ago, has significantly contributed to humanitarian efforts and theological education by awarding millions in grants. Its Student Endowment Fund supports Master of Divinity students with monthly scholarships, benefiting 35 to 40 students annually. All church members can participate in the Foundation's governance, and grant recipients must provide updates on their projects. Applications must be submitted in hard copy, following specific guidelines.

The Whitehall Foundation's Grants-in-Aid program supports early-career researchers in the life sciences, specifically in neurobiology. Aimed at assistant professors facing funding challenges, grants do not exceed $30,000 for one year. Applications are evaluated based on scientific merit and innovation. Eligibility requires independence as an investigator and Principal Investigator status. The Jean Estes Epstein Charitable Foundation Scholarship supports public school students from Hawaii in their pursuit of higher education on the mainland U.S. Established by Jean Estes Epstein in 2007, the scholarship aims to enhance educational experiences by exposing students to diverse environments. Eligible candidates must be Hawaii residents, graduating from public high schools with a minimum GPA of 3.7, and demonstrate financial need while being full-time college freshmen.
