The Adolph Coors Public Policy Grant Programs support organizations that embody western values like self-reliance and personal responsibility. Fran Gay Memorial Scholarship Fund

When Fran died in 2000, she left behind not only her son, daughter, and other family members, but also her second “family” at JFK Medical Center. She worked at the hospital for 30 years in positions that included supervisor of Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit and as Assistant Director of Nursing, and Risk Manager. Her family established this scholarship to help students pursue careers in the health profession.

The Infant-Toddler Court Program State Awards empower states and communities to enhance child welfare practices by integrating courts, social services, and families. This initiative promotes safety, healthy development, and nurturing relationships for young children involved in child welfare. Awardees implement the evidence-based ITC approach, sharing lessons learned with local teams, tracking outcomes, and training to ensure effective program expansion across targeted communities.

Eagles Soar Scholarship Fund

The scholarship was established by the Golden Eagle Club, Inc. in 2021. It is comprised of graduates of Hokes Bluff High School that have been out of school for 50 plus years. The award is made possible by donations and proceeds of a wind turbine in Texas via 1951 Hokes Bluff graduate, Mr. Don Street.

Award:

The scholarship benefits individuals pursuing a certificate, associate's degree, bachelor’s degree, or a State of Alabama-approved workforce training program. This one-time award is for either part-time or full-time enrolled students to attend any accredited institution of higher learning in the United States.

The Community Foundation will project and allocate the assets available for scholarship awards depending on the Fund's annual income. This Scholarship is strictly funded based on available assets. The award is renewable and may include tuition, institutional housing, books, and fees. Due to the renewable nature of the Fund, it may not be available on an annual basis. 

The Winters Area Foundation Alumni Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Abilene, supports Winters alumni currently enrolled in college. With awards ranging from $500 to over $5,000, this scholarship aims to ease the financial burden of higher education. Payments are made directly to educational institutions for the fall and spring semesters. The Jean Dreyfus Lectureship for Undergraduate Institutions Grant provides a $25,000 award to facilitate a visit by a notable researcher in the chemical sciences to undergraduate institutions. It includes funding for summer research fellowships for two students and requires the researcher to deliver accessible lectures to the public. This initiative honors Jean Dreyfus's legacy and supports the engagement of undergraduates in scientific research and discourse.

The West Texas Hereford Association – Curly Hays Scholarship Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Abilene, honors Curly Hays, a dedicated community figure. This scholarship supports Texas high school seniors who have exhibited livestock, with awards ranging from $500 to over $5,000. Payments are made directly to educational institutions in August and January. Preference is given to Junior Hereford Association members, helping to foster agricultural education and community engagement.

W.R. "Bill" Asplund Scholarship

W.R. “Bill” Asplund (1932-2022) was a well-loved teacher in the Science Department at Wenatchee High School (WHS) from 1963 through 1987. He was a mentor to many students, instilling an appreciation for chemistry, scientific curiosity, and the natural world. He also introduced many to the outdoors as an advisor to the WHS Alpine Club, and later as an outdoor sports retailer in Wenatchee.

His childhood was harsh; he was homeless for a time. This gave him a life-long appreciation for those who helped him become a teacher and an advocate for wilderness conservation.

National Welch’s Fred Killian Memorial Scholarship

The National Welch’s Fred Killian Memorial Scholarship was established in 2007 by the National Grape Cooperative and Welch’s to honor the memory of Fred Killian, a Washington State grower.

The American Institute of Physics offers Grants-in-Aid to support research in the history of the physical sciences. Aimed primarily at graduate students, the program also welcomes applications from undergraduates, postdoctoral researchers, and established scholars. Grants up to $2,500 are provided on a reimbursement basis for expenses such as travel and research assistance. Grace Ekman Whitley Scholarship

Grace Ekman Whitley taught school in Leavenworth, Manson, Tonasket and Wenatchee High Schools. She had no children, but she loved the children in her classrooms as her own. This scholarship was established at the Community Foundation in order to support graduating seniors from Cascade, Manson, Tonasket and Wenatchee High Schools. Each year, the committee seeks to award students who demonstrate perseverance and commitment, work ethic, strong academic improvement, motivation, and who have overcome disadvantages.

Silver Star Chapter #93 Order of the Eastern Star Scholarship

The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both women and men may belong. The organization’s membership is comprised of women and men who sincerely reflect the spirit of fraternal love and the desire to work together for good. Silver Star Chapter #93 established this scholarship as a means of fulfilling the mission of the organization to support the local community and benefit fellow mankind.

The Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) Scholarship, offered by the AAAE Foundation, provides financial support to aspiring leaders in aviation. With over $518,900 in scholarships available for 2025, this program aids students whose families are involved in the A.A.E. community. Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance, financial need, and community engagement. The Charles A., Dhel L., and Katharine Funkhouser Memorial Scholarship provides $1,500 in renewable financial assistance to high school seniors graduating from Dayton Public Schools. Established by Jeanne Funkhouser-Reeder and her husband, Vern W. Reeder, this scholarship aims to support deserving students demonstrating financial need and academic potential. Administered by The Dayton Foundation, it encourages graduates to pursue further education at accredited colleges or universities.
