Alopecia Areata (AA) is a chronic, immune-mediated condition causing nonscarring hair loss that affects about 2% of the global population and can lead to substantial psychosocial burden if disease is severe and untreated. The treatment landscape has recently evolved with the approval of ritlecitinib, a systemic therapy for severe AA in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older, based on efficacy demonstrated in the ALLEGRO phase 2b/3 program.

Despite this advance, important questions remain regarding the optimal timing of therapy initiation. Emerging post-hoc analyses from the ALLEGRO program indicate that patients with shorter disease duration and lower baseline severity achieve higher response rates, suggesting that earlier intervention with ritlecitinib may lead to improved outcomes.

For over fifty years, the nonprofit Art League of Hilton Head has been the Lowcountry’s creative core for the visual arts with our innovative Gallery, teaching Academy and special community art events.

We award an annual scholarship to a local graduating High School senior to pursue a career in the visual arts in addition to sponsoring programs with local schools.

Art League of Hilton Head Art Scholarship 

Since the year 2000, Art League of Hilton Head awards a $2000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior studying or living in Beaufort County, who has been accepted into an accredited art school or a college where he/she will be majoring in the visual arts. Only one scholarship will be awarded each year.

The successful applicant will be selected based on an interview, a review of a portfolio and completion of this application. 

The Environmental Health Sciences Core Centers Program (P30) invites grant applications to support innovative research in environmental health. These centers serve as critical hubs for advancing the goals of the 2025-2029 NIEHS Strategic Plan, providing essential infrastructure and resources for collaborative research. The SPARK-EHS initiative aims to broaden the reach of NIEHS training by launching innovative environmental health programs for predoctoral trainees at institutions without recent NIEHS T32 funding. Eligible institutions will receive support for developing and implementing these targeted training programs, fostering advancements in environmental health research.

The Pathway to Careers scholarship, offered by the Arizona Community Foundation, aims to support Sedona/Verde Valley high school graduates pursuing vocational training or an Associate's degree at accredited institutions. Eligible applicants must be CIRI shareholders or descendants, maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, and be enrolled in accredited institutions. The CIRI Foundation offers the Career Technical Education Scholarship to support Alaska Native beneficiaries pursuing post-secondary education. This scholarship provides up to $9,000 per year for educational expenses, including tuition and required supplies. Eligible applicants must be CIRI original shareholders or descendants, possess a high school diploma or GED, and maintain a minimum GPA. Criteria:

• Creative expression submission and letters of recommendation. Financial need will be considered in the event of a tie.

In memory of Carol J. Kenagy, RN and through the wonderful generosity of our donors, Silverton Health Foundation is able to offer continuing education scholarships for Legacy Silverton staff pursuing nursing degrees.

The WAEF Scholarships provided by the Washington Apple Education Foundation support over 300 students this year with more than $1 million in educational awards. Open to high school seniors and college students with ties to the Washington tree fruit industry, these scholarships can be renewed for a second year if qualifications are met. Recipients can pursue various degrees at accredited institutions, promoting education in tree fruit-related fields.

The Building Foundation Grants by Catholic Extension aim to support essential pastoral and administrative functions in under-resourced communities. These grants provide salary subsidies and operational funding to ordained, religious, and lay ministers, ensuring access to Catholic services. Prioritizing areas with significant financial need, this initiative seeks to sustain the church's presence where it is most critical, enabling continued ministry and outreach for those who may otherwise be underserved.
