Joint Effort Marketing Grant Program

The Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) Grant Program funds promotions or events for nonprofit organizations. The JEM grant has different categories to fit an organization’s needs. Each category reimburses Wisconsin nonprofit organizations for eligible promotional expenses. 

Existing Event:

This grant is for expanding the promotion of an existing nonprofit event. Expanding promotion can include a new geographic market, targeting a new demographic audience or promotion in a new medium. New markets, media and audiences should be chosen based on their potential to increase event attendance. The maximum award is $39,550 per year and two consecutive years of funding are available. An event that was funded as a New Event may not qualify for an Existing Event JEM Grant.

The Knowles-Nelson Stewardship State Property Development Grant Program provides $500,000 annually to support friends groups and nonprofit conservation organizations in enhancing state property facilities. Grants can reach up to $20,000 per project, with a focus on nature-based outdoor recreation and habitat restoration. Eligible projects must align with DNR plans and address unmet needs, ensuring long-term benefits. Successful applicants must comply with grant conditions and manage shared project costs effectively.

Energy Innovation Grant Program

Overview

The Energy Innovation Grant Program (EIGP) supports a wide variety of energy projects related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage, energy planning, and more.

For each grant round, the Commission chooses eligible activities based on its energy priorities, emerging trends, and public input. 

The JFNY Grant for Arts & Cultural Exchange supports U.S. non-profit organizations aiming to enhance understanding of Japanese arts and culture. Eligible projects include performances, workshops, and exhibitions, with priority given to those with additional funding and in areas with limited access to cultural events. Applications must be submitted at least one month prior for online projects and three months for others. The grant covers expenses like travel, publicity, and artist fees, and is reimbursed upon project completion.

The Auto Club Group Foundation focuses on creating a positive impact through grants that enhance traffic safety, driver education, and financial literacy across 14 U.S. states and two territories. The Ready, Set, Go! (RSG) Grant Program

The Ready, Set, Go! (RSG) grant program assists destinations in securing competitive sporting events that are not regularly held in Wisconsin and require an upfront financial commitment. The RSG fund has $110,000 per fiscal year available for matching grants.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant for schools to implement the PLTW Biomedical Science program for the 2026-2029 academic years. Eligible schools can receive up to $14,000 to cover participation fees and training costs. This grant encourages public, private, and charter schools across the U.S. to enhance their science curriculum, supporting students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Schools must commit to offering specific courses during the grant period to qualify for funding.

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources

In keeping with our mission, the DNR is dedicated to working with Wisconsinites while preserving and enhancing the natural resources of Wisconsin. In partnership with individuals and organizations, DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air and water resources while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor opportunities.

Recreational Trails Program (RTP)

This is a federal program administered in most states. Municipal governments and incorporated organizations are eligible to receive reimbursement for the development, rehabilitation, and maintenance of recreational trails and trail-related facilities for both motorized and non-motorized recreational trail uses.

Eligible sponsors may be reimbursed for up to 80% of eligible project costs. Funds from this program may be used in conjunction with funds from other state grant programs that also fund trail projects.

The RTP legislation prohibits using RTP funds for condemnation of any kind of interest in property. An RTP project may be located on land condemned with funds from other sources. However, to be consistent with the RTP legislation, it is not permissible to use the value of condemned land toward the match requirement for an RTP project.

With a mission to improve access to biomedical and health information, the National Library of Medicine provides Wisconsin organizations with funding to expand health information outreach, training, and technology, including projects up to US $25,000. Museums and other institutions that are NNLM Network Member Organizations in Wisconsin may be eligible, especially if they serve underrepresented or medically underserved populations.

Agricultural producers and land managers in Wisconsin seeking to enhance conservation on working lands can receive US $1,500 - US $4,000 annually to maintain and expand stewardship practices. With a mission to support sustainable agriculture, USDA: Natural Resources Conservation Service of Wisconsin provides funding for activities like cover crops, grazing management, and wildlife habitat improvements that museum-owned or affiliated lands may incorporate.
