Background
Citizens invests in nonprofits creating measurable impact through innovative programs. Our philanthropic priorities are Workforce Development and Financial Empowerment. At Citizens, we strive to collaborate closely with high-impact nonprofit organizations and build strong partnerships that include opportunities for colleague volunteerism and joint storytelling.
Workforce Development
We fund programs that help build the workforce of the future through job training, career education and career coaching programs.

- Currently, Citizens only accepts unsolicited contribution applications from organizations in select geographic areas: CT, DC, DE, FL, MA, MD, MI, NH, OH, PA, RI, Upstate NY, VA and VT.
Preferences
- We are prioritize allocating our grant funding in support of programs.
Ineligibility
- Must not be a Type III Supporting Organization
- Must not use a Fiscal Agent
- Must not be seeking funds for any of the following:
- General operating support
- Annual Appeals/Capital Campaigns
- Public or private educational institutions
- Single disease, issue information and research organizations
- Religious organizations, including restoration of church buildings
- Girl Scout or Boy Scout Troops
- Athletic Organizations or Recreational Departments
- Individuals
- Labor, fraternal or membership organizations
- Political organizations or projects
- Conferences or seminars
- Governmental and quasi-governmental public agencies or organizations
- Endowment
- Trips and tours, including transportation costs
- Private Foundations
- Organization must not discriminate based on:
- Age
- Race
- Color
- Sex
- Religion
- National Origin
- Disability
- Family Status
- Receipt of Public Assistance
- Sexual Orientation
