Created by the Georgia General Assembly in 1981 as an executive branch agency, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is a statewide body established to build consensus and unity among the State's diverse and interdependent criminal justice system components. CJCC is legislatively charged with twelve areas of criminal justice coordination. Among those responsibilities is to serve as the statewide clearinghouse for criminal justice information and research, develop criminal justice legislative and executive policy proposals, and serve in an advisory capacity to the governor on issues impacting the criminal justice system.

FY27 State Crisis Intervention Program – Behavioral Health

The Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP), authorized by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022, provides formula funds to support gun violence reduction programs and initiatives. Grants from Qlarant Foundation help health and wellness programs expand care for uninsured and underserved communities, advance community health education, and address health disparities and social determinants of health.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in Georgia within 50 miles of a James Avery retail or corporate location can apply for James Avery Charitable Foundation’s corporate grants, awarding US $10,000 - US $25,000 for community-focused programs. In its 2025 pilot year, ITF will award up to 24 grants of $30,000 each to projects that enhance cultural continuity and sustainable futures. Nonprofit organizations using physical activity to support mental health can apply for the Anxiety & Depression Initiative’s Get Out and Get Active Grant, offering up to US $10,000. With a mission to empower women’s collective giving, Impact100 Global Veterans provides large project grants; Georgia organizations focused on wellness and healthy living for veterans may be strong candidates.

Georgia nonprofits, schools, and government agencies hosting health and wellness events can access funding through Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation’s Thriving Community Impact Fund for sponsorships, local memberships, and community engagement. Eligible projects promote physical, mental, and social well-being, address poverty and economic stability, or improve neighborhood environments; applications must be submitted 12 weeks before the event.

Focused on wellness and healthy living, this grant offers up to US $10,000 for projects on public lands that improve veterans’ physical and mental health and foster community connection.
